Sierra Ferrell was joined by her fiddle player Nate Leath at Circle City Recording studio on Friday, October 4, 2019.
Prior to their Meadow Stage performance at the 2019 Fall Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance that night, the pair graciously took time out of their schedule to join us for a special taping of the first episode of the Shakori Sessions.
The duo performed three songs, all in one take, including “Give It Time”, which was her NPR Tiny Desk submission, “Why’d Ya Do It”, and a previously unreleased, slightly risqué, track entitled, “Ding Dong Daddy.”
In between the tunes Sierra discussed life on the road, her musical journey, and where she would like to take her music in the future.
Lunch was provided by the Pickle Jar Cafe, located in Chatham Marketplace in Pittsboro.

Love your music so much!!
Sierra is a force. She’s one of the most amazing artists out there right now.
Cousin Nate & Sierra, loved this podcast. Gave me goosebumps, tears, and laughs.
Loved this!
Sierra’s music is awesome as is. I have trepidation for her desired bigger sound due to experience with some other artists, but will keep an open ear. So excited for her next album.
